OK...so my first weigh in was not what I expected. I lost .6 pounds. I mean come on...you can pee .6 pounds. My goal is to loose 8 pounds in one month, so really I should be aiming for 2 lbs a week. I am not sure how I am going to be able to make up for this "not so hot" week. In the past I might have given up or changed my goal but this girl is a fighter. This year bathing suit season will not take me by surprise, I will be ready for it and it's tiny outfits.
My regained enthusiasm does not change the fact that I was pretty pissed off after I weighed in but one of the biggest factors in keeping me focused was the support of those on Facebook. Many people gave me advice and some told me to just ignore the number and focus on how I feel. I even got a "suck it up girl, this is part of your journey". You will never know how much it means to me knowing that people are out there cheering me on and wanting me to do well.
One big change that I have been adjusting to this week is the new Weight Watchers program. They changed the point system and this has been a little overwhelming for me. So far I have really liked Weight Watchers mostly because of the accountability and the group support. I will say there are some "crazies" in my group but that makes it a little entertaining. I hope the first week with the new program helps me reach my goal.
I really hope this week the scale is more friendly. I am not really sure what I did wrong last week. I do know that if this week is not successful, something will need to change.
I have a real passion for life. I am fascinated by things unknown to me. I have been called distracted, unfocused, ADD and more. I prefer to be called a lover of "Shiny Things". When I see something "shiny" and new I run to it. I dive head first into it. I live and breath it. It could be swing dancing, running, sewing, growing herbs or event planning. I have found so many passions its hard to get to good at anything. This blog is to document my new "shiny" thing, whatever it may be.

Products that helped me this week
Tomorrow I weigh in...gosh I hope a lost something. I have really focused in on my diet this week and I pray it will pay off. I cut out all "starchy" carbs and sugars. No bread, potatoes, beets, squash and no more then a serving of fruit a day. I will tell you though my energy and mood have been amazing. Even if I don't loose pounds (can't believe I am saying this) it has been worth it. I will keep you posted on my progress.
This cold weather makes me want to do 3 things:
1-Curl up and sit on the sofa with a cozy blanket and Christmas Vacation on the TV.
2- Bake...I do not want to do this when it is hot outside but the second it is below 65....Pumpkin cookies with cream cheese frosting is the only thing on my mind
3- Eat, Eat, and Eat!!! Stews, crusty sour dough bread, thick pizza, roasted marshmallows- God there is so much I love to eat once it is cold.
Well here are a few products that helped me get through this partially cold week. I am ALWAYS looking for new items to buy that others have tried and enjoyed. Give me your ideas, I need them.
Tofu "noodles". These are in the Tofu section. just make sure you rinse them really well before you use them.
Spring water- I really like the flavored kinds (lemon, lime and grapefruit). It keeps me full feeling and away from soda!
Herb Garden- I have this in my house (purchased it from Sams Club) and add the herbs to salad and sauces to give them more flavor. Low in sodium products can have zero taste, so fresh herb help.
Green Tea- I love green tea. I sware it makes me feel 110% better. I get mine from Starbucks. it has a minty flavor that is extremely refreshing. I finally learned how to order it- "Venti Iced Green tea with 1 splenda". It is sugar free and has zero calories. Some nutritionist (Dr. Oz) say that green tea helps speed up metabolism.
What products help you in your weight loss goals? Give me some ideas that will help keep me focused and if they work...I will give credit where credit is due!
